About the Event

Join Hnub Tshiab for an intimate March Women’s History Month event centered around connection and collective reflection.
This evening brings together Hmong women, HWLI and Girls Enterprise alumnae, and supporters to share a meal, reconnect, and engage in meaningful dialogue grounded in Dr. Dia Yang’s research study, “‘Yog Koj Tsis Mloog Lus, Koj Yog Poj Laib’: An Exploration of the Experiences and Identity Development of Hmong Women in the United States.” Drawing from Dr. Dia Yang’s study on Hmong women’s identity development and the lived experiences of being labeled “poj laib,” this evening creates space to reflect on how Hmong women have navigated expectations, reclaimed their stories, and redefined leadership on their own terms. Participants will hear highlights from the research and take part in small-group discussions to reflect on their own journeys and what cultural identity and leadership means to them today.
