Dr. Hang is Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, and Founding Dean, Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas. St. Thomas is the largest private university in Minnesota. She is former President and CEO of the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation where she spent ten years, leading the organization through transformational changes to improve its relevancy and impact. Dr. Hang joined St. Thomas in the fall of 2019, and successfully launched the Morrison Family College of Health, an interdisciplinary college that educates culturally responsive health providers as purpose-driven leaders and change agents to advance whole person health and community well-being.
Dr. Hang has extensive experience in the public and nonprofit sectors serving low income and disadvantaged populations with direct services, integrating health and social services, and advancing health equity. Dr. Hang has a BA in Psychology from Brown University, an MA in Social Policy and Distributive Justice from the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs, and a Doctorate in Public Administration from Hamline University.
Dr. Hang was named Most Admired CEO by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal in the inaugural year of these awards, and has been recognized with may other awards, including the Communications and Leadership Award with Toastmasters International, the Humphrey Public Leadership Award, and the Girl Scouts Women of Distinction Award. Among her board roles, she has served with the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank, Coalition of Asian American Leaders, St. Paul and Minnesota Foundation, Bremer Bank, Minnesota Historical Society, and HealthPartners. She currently serves on the boards of Hnub Tshiab: Hmong Women Achieving Together, Allina Health, and Leap Pediatric and Adolescent Care.
